U4 Recreational Soccer Program

Designed specifically for our youngest athletes, the U4 Recreational Soccer Program welcomes players typically around 3 years old. Each session includes a playful training segment on Sunday mornings followed by a casual scrimmage, allowing kids to explore soccer in a relaxed, supportive setting.

At this stage, we focus on helping children become comfortable with the ball, learn to interact with teammates, and most importantly, have fun. Our goal is to foster confidence, develop coordination, and inspire a love for being part of a team.

Parent involvement is crucial in this age group. Our dedicated volunteer coaches guide and support, but we rely on parents to offer comfort and encouragement if a child needs assistance. We prioritize patience and positivity, creating a safe space for each child to grow at their own pace. By season’s end, many parents are delighted to see their child’s incredible progress—not just in soccer skills, but also in confidence and social interaction.

U6 and Older Recreational Soccer Program

For players in the U6 and older age groups, our Recreational Soccer Program offers a more structured path into the game. Teams typically practice twice a week and play on Sundays, with matches held locally in Watsonville—often at Watsonville High School or Freedom Elementary.

This program emphasizes teaching the fundamentals of soccer in an enjoyable and supportive environment. Players will learn the basic rules of the game, essential dribbling techniques, and how to navigate one-on-one situations—all while developing their love for the sport and teamwork skills.

We are committed to creating a positive learning experience where players can grow at their own pace. Our Recreational Soccer Program also serves as a foundation for those who may eventually transition into our competitive program. Recognizing that each player’s development journey is unique, we strive to offer a recreational option up to U10, as long as we have enough interested players ready to learn and have fun, without pressure.
